The Lightedpixels Wedding Photography Workshop

The Better Photographer.

“We have had numerous requests to conduct workshops, but our busy schedule especially with numerous destination shoots, meant that we just could not find the time to do it. As such, I am truly excited to finally be able to take some time out to do this. I have said it before, If I were not a photographer, I would probably be a teacher for I have always found joy in sharing and educating. And now, after many months of preparation, I am proud to announce that we are starting off 2017 with two workshops – one here in Singapore and the other in neighboring Kuala Lumpur. The Singapore workshop will be on 15 & 16 Feb 2017. The KL workshop will be on 20 & 21 Feb 2017.
Having started Lightedpixels more than 13 years ago, there is so much I have learned and experienced. Besides sharing shooting techniques, I cannot wait to share with you what I have learned about starting and running a successful photography studio, especially here om Asia. I am also thankful to be a part of a global photographers’ network, the Beloved Collective, as a teacher. There is a wealth of knowledge and teaching materials to be used and shared. A part of this workshop will be dedicated to sharing Moment Design techniques. Techniques that would help transform the way you view your environment and in turn transform the way you shoot. As the first and only Asian teacher presently, this would be a great opportunity to discover for yourselves, here in Asia, the techniques that have inspired many leading photographers here and around the world.

This two day workshop aims to help you improve not just your photography techniques but also the processes that happen before and after the shoot. There will be a practical shooting session with subjects to demonstrate what is shared and taught. It also aims to help you build a successful and lasting business. Whether you are just starting out or have been doing this for a few years now, I look forward to sharing my knowledge on how to kick-start and maintain a successful photography brand. Another important component of the workshop is Destination Photography. I do a lot of it! I have put together a section to help you plan for one. The class size will be kept small and intimate to facilitate meaningful teaching. More importantly, I am confident we will take away more than just knowledge from the workshop, friendships and bonds will be formed.

Thanks to the kind support of Sony, the workshop would also be providing participants the opportunity to try out Sony’s cameras and lens.”

About Kelvin Koh

Kelvin began his photography journey in 2003 and registered Lightedpixels in 2006. Lightedpixels got off to a bright start having won a number of international wedding photography awards that year. It was also recognised by the Singapore Tatler in its Best of Singapore list, and it has been so for 11 years running. The Singapore-based photography studio has also gone on to influence a whole generation of photographers both within and outside of Singapore, with their brand and style of photography.

Kelvin’s works have been exhibited and published in numerous local and international magazines. Besides growing the studio into one of the most sought after photography studios in the region, Kelvin has also managed to grow his family. He has recently become a father yet again, for the fifth time. Despite the noise and chaos at home, he and his lovely wife, Elizabeth, will not trade that for anything else in the world.

Kelvin is also part of the Beloved Collective and is the only teacher based in Asia. He hopes to dedicate more time educating and sharing his knowledge and experience. He is also proudly sponsored by Sony.

“Kelvin Koh is a true inspiration. I started noticing his work around 8 years back when I first venture into the wedding photography business. His work has been consistently amazing through out the years and his work never ceases to amaze me even till today. I love the mood of his images and how well he frame his subject yet making it looks so casual. Hat’s off to you Kelvin ! Keep up the good work and many thanks for being a friend.”
