PARIS 17 and 18 AUG 2016
Portrait & Landscape Photography Workshop with Two Award-winning Photographers

If I were not a photographer, I would probably be a teacher for I have always found joy in sharing and educating.

Since our inception, we have had numerous requests to conduct workshops, but our busy schedule especially with numerous destination shoots, meant that we just could not find the time to do it.

So what changed?

It all began with an invitation from Wikischoolpedia in 2012 to conduct an international workshop in Bali, Indonesia. This was followed by a request from AsukaBook for us to conduct a workshop in Japan. It is not often that photographers are invited by international companies to conduct workshops for fellow wedding photographers. It was a privilege for me, and these commitments spurred me on to produce the materials for a meaningful workshop. After three highly successful workshops in Bali, Tokyo and Osaka, I am encouraged by the experience and I am motivated to share what I have learnt over my years in professional photography with you.

Finally, being a part of a global photographers’ network, the Beloved Collective, as a teacher also meant I had tremendous support in conducting workshops.

Earlier this year, I encountered a young, talented and passionate landscape photographer, Marklin Ang, who would subsequently join us at Lightedpixels Pixies, a subsidiary of LightedPixels Photography. Marklin’s work has been mentioned by Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. He has been a speaker at TEDx Singapore and his works are highly regarded by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore (URA) and Singapore Tourism Board (STB). This award-winning photographer has also had his works featured in local newspapers.

Together, Marklin and I are collaborating to bring you the best of portraiture and landscape photography in Paris this August. The two-day workshop will be conducted outdoors as we explore the places I would normally go to. Having photographed more than 95 couples in Paris over the past 10 years, I cannot wait to share with you some of the most beautiful spots in this iconic city. Besides location shooting, we will also share with you the techniques that we use in shooting. We will also bond together over meals as we explore, adventure and learn.”

About Kelvin Koh

Kelvin began his photography journey in 2003 and registered Lightedpixels in 2006. Lightedpixels got off to a bright start having won a number of international wedding photography awards that year. It was also recognised by the Singapore Tatler in its Best of Singapore list, and it has been so for 10 years running. The Singapore-based photography studio has also gone on to influence a whole generation of photographers both within and outside of Singapore, with their brand and style of photography.

Kelvin’s works have been exhibited and published in numerous local and international magazines. Besides growing the studio into one of the most sought after photography studios in the region, Kelvin has also managed to grow his family. He has recently become a father yet again, for the fifth time. Despite the noise and chaos at home, he and his lovely wife, Elizabeth, insist they will not trade that for anything else in the world.

Kelvin is also part of the Beloved Collective and is the only teacher based in Asia. He hopes to dedicate more time educating and sharing his knowledge and experience. He is also proudly sponsored by Sony.

About Marklin Ang

Marklin wishes he was Iron Man. Till he fulfils that dream, he enjoys travelling the world in search of beauty among the landscapes.

His works have been mentioned by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore during the 2014 National Day Rally. In 2016, he was also invited by TEDx Singapore as a speaker to talk about his work. Besides shooting for the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore, he was also commissioned by the Singapore Tourism Board for their projects. His works have also won him a number of prizes and awards and have been featured in local newspapers.

Iron man would certainly be proud.
